Had wonderful treatment by all staff in emergency department, imaging dept and observation ward. Staff were kind and caring and took the time to addresses all my concerns despite the huge numbers of patients they were dealing with.
Thanks to a great set of people in the A&E and also in the cardiac department. Couldn't do enough for us. Respect!
If you're ever suffering excruciating pain, exhausted mentally and physically, but wonder if you can possibly feel worse, sit in Queen Alexandra Hospital emergency department for 4 hours and allow yourself to be treated with utter disdain by the most apathetic, contemptuous medical 'professionals' you will ever meet. Seriously avoid if you are ever truly ill. You'll get more compassion and medical knowledge from a Cub Scout with a first aid badge. Simply a disgrace.
On Friday 23rd of November I had surgery carried out by Ms Walters and her team in the dept' of upper GI surgery. I received first class care and treatment, and I am able to say the way I was dealt with was so impressive, From entering the hospital to leaving later in the day the care, respect, patience, clear instructions and aftercare were on a level that left me overwhelmed. I now know why the there are frequent letters in our Evening News letters page thanking QA .
I have been visiting QA for years for a variety of reasons. Swings and roundabouts from appalling to very good. At present the departments I am having dealings with are good. Going on this only, I believe the service has improved recently.
