Lost count of the number of times visited. But every time a pleasure. Summertime is packed. Poor weather is busy. Food and beer is excellent. Surrounding are atmospheric and historic. Sitting by the windows gives you the impression of being on a ship ! Love the place.
This is the first time I have eaten breakfast here and it was amazing! I had the eggs royale with black pudding and it was delicious. Don't be put off by the price, the quality of the food is definitely worth it! Back tomorrow for my birthday lunch.
Only have a chance to visit e every few years. But as good this time as ever. Even though Gales is now part of Fullers, the Gale's-badged ales were great. Didn't eat, but food on adjacent tables looked very nice.
Old Portsmouths favourite pub has been updated and now has good pub lunches while you sit overlooking the harbour and the gosport ferry. A nice pint at the end of your stroll round this area. Look out for the famous photo of the warship that crashed into the pub during the war or just after.
Very nice in the upstairs restaurant. Looking out at the water and ships is relaxing. They keep the windows so clean! Good for taking photos. Food not bad. Little expensive for what it is though. Wouldn't go too often due to this. Yearly maybe.
