First time in this lovely cafe. We were having a walk on a cold bright day and the exterior of the cafe looked inviting. The cafe was warm and cosy with enough customers enjoying tea coffee and food. The service was good and staff were busy keeping tables clean. Would certainly recommend a visit.
This is one of my favourite spots along the sea front. I've taken a lot of friends here who aren't and they have all consistently said they wished that had something like this back home.
We called in on a cold Sunday afternoon in January. We waited by a sign reading: 'please wait to be seated.' OK, we were hiding the sign but is that an excuse for the waitresses to look at us as though we were invisible? Eventually, I assume he was the manager, offered us a table or a sofa, and as we just wanted tea, we chose a sofa. Things got better, the service from then on was efficient and friendly. The tea came in pots and was loose tea and delicious. I had the lemon Earl Grey cake - unusual but fantastic. My wife had a scone which was light and fluffy. The prices on the menu for the main meals seemed a bit high - I think fish and chips was 13.50 - but if they're as delicious as what we had, I imagine well worth it. Oh, one more thing, this is a very dog friendly caf as there were at least seven in there out of eight tables.
Lovely place, very sunny and cozy. And it has amazing sea view. Absolute gem! We did not have a reservation, but they manage to find nice table in 5 min. Had a nice breakfast. My breakfast was quite heavy though, too much salmon and had fried base underneath. And not many vegan options, my friend is vegan and she end up eating just a toast with jam. Would be good to update their menu.
Good food reasonably priced great sea views and dog friendly. Lovely staff. Well worth a visit.
