I took my wedding dress in to be steamed/pressed and the result looked absolutely no different. The creases were just as before and whatever the southsea laundry company did to them didn't touch them at all.After calling to complain they offered to take it back but they said they had already done the best they could so I felt if it didn't work the first time then it wouldn't work the second - there was no mention when I paid that their technique hadn't worked and they refused to even entertain the idea of a refund on the phone. When going in to speak to them in person about a refund the owner was very rude and when we said we weren't going to leave without a partial refund he threatened to turn up to our wedding! Comical... Do not use this business. What a waste of 30 and some extra stress and worry ahead of my wedding.I then took it to another company who were excellent and sorted it with no problem - they were shocked when I said it had already apparently been steamed and said the results were 'appalling'.
Seems such a shame that all of the reviews are a bit on the negative side. I've been dealing with Southsea Laundry through work for quite a while now and I have found them nothing but polite and professional. On a more personal note I've just had my boots re-healed by them and they have done an excellent job.
Gave two jackets and received them as if they were not cleaned at all. No discount, nothing, I did not want to pay for the "service". Spoke to manager - he was very rude and demanded to explain where are the stains from (no idea, just basic dirt from wearing). In the end, I was offered to have them washed with water and soap instead and I would have to take full responsibility in case of any damage. This is a joke - 100% avoid.
This used to be a really good dry cleaners before the refit.My first time using them since reopening and I'm wholey disappointed. I dropped in 2 suits, noting a few dirt marks on one of the jackets. On taking them out of the wrapping tonight the dirt marks are still there but now all the items have a few short dog hairs and long grey hairs added. No obvious dry cleaning smell either.To me it seems as if they had simply just been ironed. I won't be coming back again.
Wasn't impressed with the quality of service or dry cleaning, all three suit trousers had large creases in them. They weren't returned with the coat hangers they were sent in on took a month to get replacements. Never received receipt so show cost breakdown.
